CHURCH HILL THEATRE

6 – 11TH JUNE 2011
EDINBURGH DRESS REHEARSAL

As it is always difficult to give exact timings for dress rehearsals, we are planning to run the 3 Shows back to back. We are asking all performers to attend for their own entire show, so quick changes and running orders may be worked out and rehearsed.

Performers should arrive in plenty time and on this day only please enter through the main front door, sign in and wait in the auditorium until dressing rooms are allocated.
Performers only will be admitted to the auditorium, the dress rehearsals are not open to parents or public.
When: Sunday 5th June
Where: The Churchill Theatre, Morningside Road.

The day will run as follows:

1.00pm Arrive – Friday/Saturday Cast Only (10th & 11th June)
All Inverleith Branch pupils and all Goldenacre branch pupils.
All Hedge Row, Market Traders,Calypso,Witch Doctors, Cannibals
and Cosmic Creepers.
3.00pm Finish
Please Note: No Twilight Storm, Comets, Planets or Milky Way are required for this rehearsal.

3.00pm Arrive – Wednesday/Thursday Cast Only (8th & 9th June)
All Marchmont Friday branch pupils, St Anne’s Thursday branch
Pupils and Belgrave Thursday branch pupils.
All Hedge Row, Market Traders,Calypso,Witch Doctors, Cannibals
and Cosmic Creepers.
5.00pm Finish
Please Note: No Twilight Storm, Comets, Planets or Milky Way are required for this rehearsal.

5.00pm Arrive – Monday/Tuesday Cast Only (6th & 7th June)
All Marchmont Monday branch pupils, Corstorphine, Belgrave and StAnne’s Tuesday branch pupils.
Full cast required for this rehearsal.
8.00pm Finish for all except….
8.00pm – 8.45pm – All Twilight Storm, Comets, Planets and Milky Way please stay.


PRINCIPALS SHOULD ATTEND ALL DAY
All costumes should be worn
All hire costumes will not be available until the performances and class uniforms should be worn in place of costumes at the Dress Rehearsal.
Attendance is compulsory for all performers if they wish to take part in the show.
Performers should arrive 15 minutes before their start time and no earlier as we cannot accommodate you until your allocated time.
Children will be signed out from the stage door. We thank you for your patience in advance.
The Dress rehearsals are not open to any parents or public.





Edinburgh Ticket Sales

Tickets will be on sale at the following branches at the following times only:

Monday 23rd & 30th May – Marchmont 5.00pm – 7.00pm
Tuesday 24th & 31st May – Belgrave 4.15pm – 6.15pm
Thursday 26th May & 2nd June – Belgrave 5.00pm – 7.00pm
Friday 20th May – Belgrave 4.45pm – 6.45pm
Friday 27th May & 3rd June – Marchmont 5.00pm – 7.00pm
Saturday 14th May – Goldenacre 11.30am – 1.30pm
Saturday 21st May - Inverleith 9.30am – 1.15pm

A maximum of 3 tickets per performer are available to buy prior to the dress rehearsals. Please ensure you buy or send someone to buy your allocation as any remaining tickets are on open sale at the dress rehearsals.

It is essential to inform us if you require a wheelchair space and you should contact the office before the 20th May to arrange your seats. This cannot be rectified at the theatre if a wheelchair seat has not been booked.

Please note: Tickets will again be unreserved in the theatre this year. We ask you to be considerate when choosing your seating and not to leave gaps in rows with empty seats.

Tickets are priced at:

£9.00 per adult
£8.00 OAP and children (child under 16)

All children regardless of age require a seat. Sitting on laps is no longer permitted in the theatre.
We are unable to reserve or hold tickets. All tickets must be bought and paid for at the ticket desk. Tickets are non-refundable.
PLEASE NOTE: TICKETS ARE NOT AVAILABLE THROUGH THE SCHOOL OFFICE AND ONLY AT THE BRANCHES AT THE STATED TIMES ABOVE.

Edinburgh Theatre Arrangements

The Churchill Theatre has recently undergone some refurbishment and tightened up on security. To comply with safety, security and child protection the following rules will apply during show week.

Performers should arrive via the stage door each evening between 6.00pm and 6.15pm.
A sign-in/ out procedure will be in place and no one without prior permission will be allowed in or out of the backstage area while performance is in progress.
For child protection no adults will be permitted backstage unless they have been disclosed through Disclosure Scotland by us.
There is now no access allowed through the new bar area to backstage. Access in only through the stage door.
No photographic equipment or any form of visual or sound recording equipment is to be used on the premises.

DVD
A DVD of the shows will be available to order at the performances.

Arrangements:

Children should bring any snacks/ refreshments that they might require. Drinks will be provided backstage for them during the show and a tuck shop will be available for performers during the show week (not rehearsals)

No valuables, jewellery, mobile phones should be brought as the school can not be held responsible for any losses.

All hair must be worn in a classical bun without a fringe. Please provide your own hairbrush, bun net and grips when help is needed.

No jewellery, piercings, tattoos or nail varnish should be worn.

All costumes and personal belongings should be clearly named.

Children should provide their own make-up for performances only. There will be helpers able to apply make-up if help is needed.

All costumes should be worn to classes in the two weeks prior to their show. All head dresses will be given out at the performances.



When sewing straps to fit please sew straps on straight over the shoulder attaching on the back of bodice. Please remember to stretch the bodice to fit when ready to sew. Any other small sewing jobs will be explained when costumes are handed out.


PLEASE NOTE – DURING THE WEEK OF THE SHOW THERE WILL BE NO CLASSES FOR ANYONE INVOLVED IN THE SHOW EXCEPT FOR EXAM CLASSES.
